Marshall University’s Department of Geography and Center for Environmental, Geotechnical and Applied Science are teaming up with Marshall Athletics to conduct weather research from the roof of Joan C. Edwards Stadium, on the top of the stadium’s press box.

Jacqueline Stevens, who is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology at Marshall University, has been awarded a fellowship worth $8,500 by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, which is among the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor societies for all academic disciplines. Stevens is one of 58 students nationwide to receive a Phi Kappa Phi fellowship.

Marshall University psychology faculty members and graduate students will give presentations next week at the 50th Anniversary of Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Two recent Marshall University graduates from the College of Liberal Arts have earned the Hazel Ruby McQuain Graduate Scholarship, which provides $20,000 annually for up to two years for master’s degree students.

Following approval from the Marshall University Board of Governors during its summer meeting today at Glade Springs Resort, the university is a step closer to takeoff for its aviation degree programs.

Marshall University will mark its 182nd commencement with two separate ceremonies Saturday, May 11, at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena and Convention Center.
