Marshall University has appointed Dr. Sonja G. Cantrell of Milton as the university registrar, effective Aug. 1.

Dr. Kristi M. Fondren, associate professor of sociology at Marshall University, was recently selected to receive the 2016 Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt Award for Excellence in Recreation and Park Research by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

In celebration of the release of the highly anticipated eighth Harry Potter™ story, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two: Special Rehearsal Edition Script, the Marshall University Bookstore will be hosting a Harry Potter release event beginning at 11 p.m. Saturday, July 30.

The Special Collections Department in the James E. Morrow Library on Marshall University’s Huntington campus will be closed from Monday, Aug. 1, through Friday, Aug. 5, for staff development training, cleanup and maintenance of the University Archives and Manuscript Collections, and database maintenance.
