Bryan Howard is a public library leader with more than 20 years of experience in library administration, strategic planning, organizational leadership, and community engagement. As Director of the Delaware County District Library, he provides executive leadership for a multi-branch library system, overseeing strategic initiatives, organizational development, policy implementation, budgeting, and public service operations. Throughout his career, Howard has successfully led library systems through organizational transformation, facilities development, capital improvement projects, and operational modernization while fostering strong partnerships with governing boards, staff, and community stakeholders.
Howard’s professional interests include public library leadership, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, community engagement, and the evolving role of libraries as centers for lifelong learning and civic connection. He has extensive experience in budgeting and fiscal management, labor relations, policy development, consortium collaboration, and leading successful library levy initiatives.
