What type of leases are offered?
We offer flexible lease options to suit different needs and programs at the University. Leases lengths are typically 9-month, 10-month, or 12-months. Short-term leases are offered on a limited basis depending on availability. Lease start dates are flexible, with options to begin on the 1st of 15th of each month.
Who can live at The Landing?
The Landing is open to qualified residents who meet our rental criteria. We welcome Graduate students, Students in Pharmacy, Medicine, Forensic Science, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant programs, Students aged 21+, and Faculty and Staff. The property is Family and Pet friendly.
How do I apply for an apartment
Applying for an apartment at The Landing is simple! You can apply online through our housing portal. You’ll need to complete an application form, provide required documentation, and meet our rental criteria. Is there an application fee?
No, there is no application fee to apply for an apartment at The Landing. We’ve made the process simple and accessible for all prospective tenants.
What is the security deposit amount?
Security deposit amounts vary depending on the the apartment you chose. In most cases, the deposit is equal to one months rent and refundable 30-45 days after move-out provided all lease terms are met.
What furniture is included in the apartments?
Our apartments come fully furnished with essential pieces to make you move-in easy and comfortable.
All apartments include appliances (full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer).
Studio Apartments include: full size bed, tv mount, kitchen island, bar stools, and soft seating chair.
Two-bedroom Apartments include: full size bed, desk and chair, swivel tv mount, bar stools, sofa.
Do I have to pay for utilities?
No, residents are not responsible for their utilities. Rent at The Landing is all-inclusive and covers high-speed internet, water, electric, sewer, and trash services. The building is not wired for landline telephone service or cable, and there are no usage caps on electric or water.
Are the apartments pet friendly?
Yes, pets are welcome at The Landing! We do have some breed and weight restrictions. Feel free to reach out for the full pet policy to determine if your furry friend qualifies.
A non-refundable pet fee of $300 is required.
What size are the apartments?
Our studio apartments measure are 22 feet 7 inches by 12 feet, offering a cozy and efficient layout. The two-bedroom units are 22 feet 7 inches by 23 feet 4 inches with each bedroom measuring 7 feet 3 ¾ inches by 11 feet 8 inches.
Yes, parking is included for residents at The Landing. Each leaseholder receives one parking permit as part of their lease. If additional permits are needed for other occupants listed on your lease, speak with management.
Please note that permits for Marshall University’s main campus or other campus sites must be purchased separately. These can be obtained through the MU Parking Office and paid for at the Bursar’s office. Click here for more details.

What safety and security features are included?
Marshall University and The Landing work together to provide maximum safety for our tenants. The building is equipped with interior and exterior security cameras, and all apartments are accessed via interior hallways connected to a secured main entrance. These doors remain locked 24/7, and residents use their Marshall ID to gain entry. Parking is conveniently located next to building, and security is provided around the clock by the MU Police Department and other campus security staff. Additionally, the building features a fire alarm and sprinkler system for added safety.
