The Women’s Center offers a variety of reproductive and sexual health resources to our campus community. Menstrual products, pregnancy tests, condoms, and dental dams are always available for free to our students, faculty and staff in Old Main, suite 115.

What are contraceptives?
Contraceptives, also known as birth control, is any method used to prevent pregnancy. Some contraceptives may also help manage health conditions, regulate periods and reduce menstrual pain. People of all identities may use birth control for a range of personal and/or medical reasons. Not all contraceptive methods are hormonal, and many are available without a prescription.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are spread from one person to another, usually during vaginal, anal, and oral sex. They are common and many people who have them don’t have any symptoms. Without treatment, STDs can lead to serious health problems. There are several types of sexually transmitted diseases, each with a range of symptoms or ailments.
This link from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides further information. The Cabell-Huntington Health Department provides screening, diagnosis, and treatment for a number of STDs. All services are by appointment only. Call 304-523-6483 to get scheduled.
WVFREE SHARE is a grant-funded program that delivers effective, age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health education to young people aged 13-24, with the goal of improving sexual health outcomes for young people across the state of West Virginia.
Empowerment Sessions are one-on-one, youth-centered conversations designed to help young people reflect on their sexual health goals, values and choices in a supportive, judgment-free space with professional sex educators.
