Biography

Dr. Ammar Alzarrad is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering and Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Marshall University. A licensed Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Professional in Engineering Management (CPEM), he leads multidisciplinary research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, infrastructure systems, construction safety, resilience, and workforce development. Dr. Alzarrad has secured more than $5 million in competitive external research funding from agencies including the National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ERDC), U.S. Department of Labor, NASA, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and various state agencies. His scholarly contributions include more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference publications, and his work has been recognized through multiple awards for excellence in research, teaching, and service. Dr. Alzarrad is committed to advancing the application of emerging technologies to address complex engineering challenges and to develop safer, smarter, and more sustainable infrastructure systems for future generations.
