School of Health and Movement Sciences
The Marshall University School of Health and Movement Sciences, we study how the body moves and functions, and research ways to strengthen the body while protecting it from injury. Our department has a Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Movement Sciences housing five academic majors students can choose to study: Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, and Kinesiology. We also have a (1) Masters of Science in Athletic Training and a (2) Master’s of Science Health & Movement Sciences housing 4 academic majors students can choose to study: Biomechanics, Exercise Science, Sports Science, and Strength and Conditioning. The MS in Health and Movement Sciences is recognized as a STEM-designated degree program by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. As such, eligible F-1 international students who complete this program may qualify to apply for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, provided they meet all federal regulatory requirements.
Our programs are a great choice for hands-on learners interested in the human body and how it produces movement, heals and adapts over time. Our majors are great choices for students who want to build clinical skills and work with patients while obtaining the prerequisites to study medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and other health professions.
