Biography
Ms. Claire McCoy is the Lead Studio Educator at the Marshall University Early Education STEAM Center. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early childhood and a Master of Arts in School Counseling, both from Marshall University.
Claire began working with the June Harless Center in August 2012 as a Graduate Intern, where she collaborated with classroom teachers to support the Pre-K program. Her dedication and passion for early childhood education led her to step into a lead teaching role in August 2015.
With over a decade of experience, Claire has cultivated a classroom environment that emphasizes curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional growth. She is deeply committed to supporting the whole child and creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that inspire exploration and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Claire values collaboration with families, colleagues, and the community, believing that strong partnerships create the best outcomes for children. Her teaching philosophy centers on nurturing independence, encouraging kindness, and celebrating the unique strengths each child brings to the classroom.
