The June Harless Center hosted our inaugural pumpkin drop engineering design challenge as part of Robert C. Bird Institute’s WV Makes Festival. The festival was held on November 4, 2022, on Marshall University’s campus. Students from local schools were able to design and construct their pumpkin protection devices ahead of time or do an impromptu design and build in the hours before the drop.
Huntington firefighters from University Fire Station assisted with the testing portion of the challenge. The day was a smashing success!
