Partial funding for the project has been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, the College of Arts and Media, the Marshall University Research Corporation and the School of Art & Design.
Muralist Nichole Westfall, who was named 2024 Governor’s Artist of the Year, will be present to discuss mural designs. She is recognized for her bold and whimsical aesthetic and her commitment to creating murals that allow joy to thrive.
The Feb. 24 event will include opportunities to meet the artist and School of Art & Design staff, to view preliminary designs, and learn more about the project’s timeline and community impact.
“We are excited to present Nichole’s designs to the public and to begin the production phase of this project,” said Dr. Mark Zanter, director of the School of Art & Design.
