The event is scheduled at Stephen J. Kopp Hall, 1538 Charleston Ave., and will bring together students from the HATS program for an interactive, hands-on experience exploring the field of pharmacy.
Participants will tour Marshall’s pharmacy facilities, engage in hands-on learning activities and receive information about the School of Pharmacy’s accelerated pathways, degree programs and career opportunities. The camp aims to spark early interest in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences while helping students envision future careers in healthcare.
The HATS program is a federally funded TRIO initiative that provides academic support and college preparation services to approximately 600 middle and high school students in Mason and Wayne counties. As part of the national TRIO network, the program supports students from underrepresented backgrounds in achieving postsecondary success. Marshall University sponsors the program as part of its commitment to educational access and regional impact.
“This partnership with Marshall’s School of Pharmacy opens a world of opportunity for our students by exposing them to in-demand career fields,” said Zac Jenkins, director of HATS. “For many, this will be their first time setting foot in a professional school setting. It’s a powerful experience to begin imagining what’s possible.”
