This year, Marshall University and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania virtually hosted the Tri-State NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Student Audition Nov. 14.. Although there were many difficulties due to the pandemic situation, voice major students from Dr. Alexander Lee and Dr. Carline Waugh’s studio prepared for this competition safely by having virtual voice lessons.
The Marshall University School of Music will present “Invisible Dances,” an online guitar recital by faculty member Dr. Júlio Alves, planned for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The Marshall University School of Music is offering two virtual presentations featuring Dr. Kevin Vigil, a music educator and classical guitarist who underwent seven surgeries and had to relearn his art.

Students from Marshall University’s public radio station, WMUL-FM, received several awards in the dotCOMM Awards 2019-2020 Competition. The winners were named in a letter this month from Dallas, Texas.

The annual fall induction ceremony for the Marshall University’s W. Marshall University School of Music faculty members and former students performed last month for a music video of “Sweet Home Chicago” to benefit the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund, a recording that featured 100 artists, including stars such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Belushi, Keegan-Michael Key and George Wendt, as well as jazz greats Ramsey Lewis and Kurt Elling.
