Dr. Jeffrey Archambault, associate dean for academic programs at the Lewis College of Business at Marshall University, has been appointed interim dean of the Lewis College of Business, beginning Aug. 2.

Dr. Avinandan (Avi) Mukherjee, dean of the Lewis College of Business, has been named interim senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Marshall University. Mukherjee replaces Dr. Jaime Taylor, who is stepping down next month to assume the presidency at Lamar University in Texas.

The Encova Foundation of West Virginia has made a $1.8 million gift for the auditorium in Marshall University’s new Lewis College of Business building, home of the Brad D. Smith Schools of Business.

Marshall University’s Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter has announced that it is welcoming three human resource leaders into its Hall of Distinction for the 2020-21 academic year. The inductees include Patricia Bostic, Agus Supriyono and Tom Wright.

The Brad. D. Smith Business Incubator has been approved as a HubSpot for Startups partner. The new designation means that business incubator clients will be able to access educational resources and tailored training, professional software at startup prices and an integrated platform for startups.

A team of students from Marshall University took third place honors at the International Collegiate Business Skills Championships in the associate division at the 76thAnnual Society for Advancement of Management International Business Conference. Also, Marshall freshman Jamison Lewis earned third place in the Business Knowledge Bowl competition.

The path to advanced degrees, including a doctorate in pharmacy and a master’s in accountancy, just became a little easier for students at Glenville State College, thanks to an agreement with Marshall University.

Marshall University’s Brad D. Smith School of Business in the Lewis College of Business is launching a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) program in August, and is now accepting student applications.

Marshall University will host its 3rd annual TEDxMarshallU event organized by students, faculty and staff from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 2, online. The theme for this year’s TEDxMarshallU is “RISING,” to honor the 50th anniversary of the Marshall University community beginning to rise from the ashes of the November 1970 plane crash and to highlight ideas and initiatives that are helping our community rise in education, economic development, and mental health and persevere through adversity.
