Marshall University’s School of Pharmacy will recognize American Pharmacists Month in October with dozens of activities including immunization clinics, diabetes education outreach, a special luncheon and a career fair, among other events.

The Marshall University Alumni Association has issued a call for Marshall University alumni, faculty and students, as well as Huntington community members, to join in “Herd for the Homeless,” a community volunteer event to be hosted by the MUAA. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Huntington.

Marshall University’s School of Music will present the Violauta Duo with “Sulla strada per l’Italia,” a recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Jomie Jazz Forum on Marshall’s Huntington campus.

Several student organizations on campus will host a candlelight vigil at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, on Marshall University’s Huntington campus to bring the community together regarding social injustices.

For the first time, Marshall University’s Cricket Club competed and placed second in the 2016 Ohio State University Cricket Tournament.

Marshall University will host a series of activities Oct. 4 through 6 in honor of National Community Policing Week to help promote engagement with local law enforcement officials.

Marshall University academic officials have announced “Pick Up Where You Left Off”—a new program intended to help former ITT students continue their education at Marshall.

Kathryn Chezik, former chair and long-time faculty member in Marshall University’s Department of Communication Disorders, will be honored in a donor recognition ceremony at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Smith Hall Birke Art Gallery on Marshall’s Huntington campus.

Many on Marshall University’s Huntington campus are familiar with the Student Resource Center as well as Career Services. Now these two student services are housed under the new Office of Career Education.

Gary G. White of Logan has been appointed and three others reappointed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin to Marshall University’s Board of Governors.
