The Marshall University School of Pharmacy welcomed 54 incoming pharmacy students at its eighth annual White Coat Ceremony, Friday, Aug. 30, at the Brad D. Smith Foundation Hall in Huntington.

The Marshall University School of Pharmacy has selected Boyd R. Rorabaugh, Ph.D., as professor and chair of its department of pharmaceutical sciences and research. The department also welcomes Melinda E. Varney, Ph.D., as an assistant professor and Mohammad Ahsanul Akbar, M.Pharm., Ph.D., as an instructor.

Marshall University School of Pharmacy has received continuing education provider status through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

The Marshall University School of Pharmacy has been awarded funding to create a substance use disorder certificate program for professional health care students.

At the fourth annual Marshall University School of Pharmacy graduation and investiture this month, 79 doctor of pharmacy degrees were awarded. Seven of the new pharmacists additionally received their master’s degrees in business administration.

Marshall University will mark its 182nd commencement with two separate ceremonies Saturday, May 11, at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena and Convention Center.
