Ten students selected for Marshall’s SURE research program

Share

Ten Marshall University students have been selected for the 10-week Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program.

SURE supports undergraduates conducting research in STEM fields—science, technology, engineering and mathematics—with the goal of strengthening West Virginia’s intellectual infrastructure.

The program, led by Dr. Michael Norton since 2005, awards stipends through a competitive process reviewed by a panel of STEM experts. Dr. Quiñones, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, manages the awards.

Each student receives a $4,800 stipend for full-time summer research, funded by the West Virginia Challenge Fund through the Higher Education Policy Commission’s Science, Technology and Research Division.
