This year, students from across the country are joining us in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences at Marshall University to begin their summer research experience through our REU Site in Data Analytics and the REU Site: Safety Analysis and Design Nexus: Bridging Theory and Practice. We are excited to support their research journey, connect them with faculty mentors, and help them grow as future STEM leaders.

What a summer at Marshall University! After 10 weeks of hard work, our 2026 NSF REU students presented projects on AI/ML-Driven Battery Health Monitoring, AI-Generated Human Faces and Emotions, Innovative Railroad Maintenance, Multi-Modal Battery Analytics and Data Fusion, and Understanding Human Emotions from Text Using AI.
We are proud of these talented students from across the country and grateful to the faculty mentors who supported them. Their work reflects Marshall University’s growing contribution to undergraduate research and workforce development nationwide.
