South Charleston Campus Art Collection

An extensive collection of art is part of the South Charleston campus, the work of more than 30 West Virginia artists. It includes media as diverse as oils, photography, quilt, woodcuts, glass and porcelain, as well as others.

From the Curator

ARTLOGOWest Virginia enjoys diversity and strength within its artistic community, and the collection at the South Charleston campus mirrors this state of the arts.

From photography to printmaking, wrought iron to porcelain, sculpture to glass making, oil painting to woodcarving, the collection enjoys a diversity both in choice of materials and process and in choice of subject matter.

By design, the collection celebrates art for art’s sake, not art as accessory. The happy result is an adventurous and varied gathering of works by some of West Virginia’s finest artists; a collection that offers endless opportunity for dialogue and exploration.
