Financial Aid & Scholarships for Aviation Students
Marshall University Aviation is committed to helping students make their flight training dreams affordable. From scholarships to financing and tuition programs, there are multiple ways to reduce the cost of becoming a professional pilot.
Completing and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov gives you access to the largest source of financial aid. Learn more on Marshall’s Financial Aid website.
A variety of scholarships are available to help cover flight training expenses. Opportunities include:

- Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) – EAA Flight Training Scholarships
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) – FAA Miscellaneous Scholarships
- University Aviation Association (UAA) – Affiliated Scholarships
- Women in Aviation International (WAI) – Apply for WAI Scholarships
Marshall University is approved for Sallie Mae Career Training Loans, which are available to non-degree seeking students enrolled in flight training.
Students from select states may qualify for in-state tuition through the Southern Regional Education Board’s (SREB) Academic Common Market. Marshall University’s Professional Pilot Program is an approved offering, allowing residents of 16 participating states (where similar programs are not available) to pay in-state rates.
