David Matthew Schwartz

Hometown: Winfield, WV

Majors: English and Philosophy
Minors: Latin and Constitutional Democracy
Honors or awards: Maier awards in first-year researched writing (1st place) and fiction (3rd place)

David hopes to go back to school for a graduate degree in English as soon as he’s able.

When asked if there was a particular course or memory that stands out when looking back over his time as an English major he said:

“Intro to Critical Theory is my favorite memory of my time as an English major. When I found the theories I was passionate about, like posthumanism and ecocriticism, everything really clicked for me. That was the moment I knew I was in the right place and wanted to make a career for myself there!”

Congratulations, David!
