Arrival Survey

On-campus residence halls open for move-in for transfer, exchange, and graduate students on Friday, January 5th. Meal plans will also begin on Friday, January 5th. We highly recommend adding some Herd Points to your account before arrival for on-campus dining. International Student Orientation will be held on Sunday, January 7th and all new international students are required to attend. If upperclassmen arrive early and want to move into the halls before the official move-in date, there is a surcharge per night – $30 per night for double rooms and $40 per night for a single room. We suggest that you download WhatsApp before you travel so that you may communicate with your pickup person using the WiFi at airports, if necessary. We will email you the person’s name and WhatsApp phone number.

*The Office of International Student Services arranges airport pickup service and lodging for newly arriving international students beginning the week prior to the start of the semester. Please let us know if you will need our assistance when you arrive or if you will make your own arrangements for transportation and lodging.

It is mandatory that you check in with the Office of International Student Services and attend an Immigration Session upon arrival to Marshall University. Please select the Check-in and Immigration Session that you plan to attend:

Marshall University requires all international students to have health insurance while studying at Marshall University. Insurance will protect you against the very high medical costs in the US.
