The Marshall University School of Music will present a faculty piano trombone recital featuring Dr. Michael Stroeher on trombone and Dr. Sara Park on piano. The concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, in the Jomie Jazz Center Forum, adjacent to the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.
“There will be something for everyone,” Stroeher said. “Gustav Mahler’s ‘Songs of a Wayfarer’ is a deeply passionate portrayal of love and loss. Anthony Barfield’s ‘Red Sky’ is a portrayal of the Big Bang and the creation of the universe, and Lauren Bernofsky’s ‘Two Latin Dances’ are a light-hearted Bossa Nova and Tango.”
The concert is free and open to all, with sponsorship from the School of Music in the College of Arts and Media.
