Ohio Valley Bank recently made a $50,000 gift in support of Marshall University’s new College of Business facility, which will be constructed at 4th Avenue and 15th Street. Construction will begin soon, as the Marshall University’s Board of Governors recently approved the off-campus location, further expanding Marshall University into downtown Huntington and the local business sector.

Marshall University alumnus Brad Smith is one of 25 business school graduates honored by AACSB International (AACSB)—the world’s largest business education alliance—as a member of the 2020 Class of Influential Leaders. The annual challenge recognizes notable alumni from AACSB-accredited schools whose inspiring work serves as a model for the next generation of business leaders.

Marshall University will host the 2nd annual TEDxMarshallU event organized by students, faculty and staff. The event will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14 in Jean Carlo Stephenson Auditorium in Huntington City Hall. TEDxMarshallU is a public event, but will require the purchase of tickets. Tickets went on sale Jan. 28.

Marshall University’s Lewis College of Business and its Brad D. Smith Schools of Business will host the inaugural CEO panel of the Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Huntington’s historic Keith-Albee Performing Arts Center.

Three Marshall University business students have been named University Innovation Fellows (UIF) by Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.

Marshall University has received the Highest Honors designation with Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the international business honor society. This is the highest level of recognition a chapter can earn in BGS’ Chapter Honor Roll program, and it commends Brad D. Smith Schools of Business’ commitment to academic excellence, leadership and student success.

Marshall University’s Lewis College of Business Executive Advisory Board will welcome three business leaders into its Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 27.
