Josh Brunty, an associate professor in Marshall University’s cyber forensics and security program, is a finalist for the Forensic 4:Cast Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) Mentor of the Year.
The Marshall University Society of Physics Students will present the last speaker in the 2020-21 Faces of Physics virtual speaker series in an online presentation planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12.
Dr. Catherine Rushton, director of Marshall’s Forensic Science program, has been named secretary of the executive board for the Council of Forensic Science Educators (COFSE), an organization of professionals teaching forensic science in universities, high schools and international institutions that aims to promote and exchange resources among those educating future forensic scientists.

Ten Marshall University students are helping coach 15 students from Cabell Midland High School as they prepare for the 2021 National Science Olympiad competition, which will be held virtually May 21-22 from Arizona State University.
– The Artists, Scholars, and Innovators lecture series, hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning at Marshall University, is presented by award-winning faculty who are chosen by their peers for their artistic, scholarly, or innovative achievements. The spring 2021 series will be hosted virtually and will open at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 18, with a lecture by Marshall Professor Dan Hollis, titled “Storytelling and Storytelling.”
The Marshall University Society of Physics Students and the American Institute of Physics will continue their “Faces of Physics Virtual Speaker Series” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, with Dr. Kandice Tanner of the Center for Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute. She will speak about “The Physics of Cancer” and her presentation is free and open to all.
