Applying to medical, pharmacy or physical therapy school can be time consuming and stressful. Students have to prepare and submit multiple documents — while at the same time staying on top of their undergraduate coursework. For Marshall University students committed to a career in one of these health professions, the process can now be substantially smoother thanks to three new “Early Assurance” programs.

Marshall University invites the community to a Herd Holiday throughout the month of December. The event, which is usually hosted at Marshall University’s Memorial Student Center, will be hosted virtually via Marshall’s website this year.

On Nov. 18, Tricia Ball, interim associate director of the Marshall University Brad D. Smith Business Incubator and associate director of the Lewis College of Business Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (iCenter), was one of 40 fellows who graduated in the inaugural class of the Appalachian Leadership Institute, a leadership and economic development program sponsored by the Appalachian Regional Commission.

The West Virginia Imagination Library program (supported by the West Virginia Department of Education and Marshall University’s June Harless Center) and the Dollywood Foundation will present a free, one-night-only livestreaming world premiere event for The Library That Dolly Built, a behind-the-scenes look at Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. EST.
