At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Review the history of substance use disorder (SUD) and treatment
- Discuss SUD as a disease
- Compare and contrast tolerance, dependence and addiction
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a stigma-free environment when providing care to patients with SUD
- Discuss primary prevention of various SUDs
