Teaching is a fundamental part of the physical therapy profession, one that is not limited to the traditional classroom. Students, patients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers are examples of people we interact with every day, and each individual brings unique learning needs. My experiences in academic teaching, clinical mentorship, and patient care have shaped my philosophy as an educator: to meet learners where they are, support their goals, and guide their growth with clarity and purpose. My focus as a teacher is to serve as both a resource of knowledge and a guide, assisting students in their progression toward mastery. I aim to provide a safe environment for growth and learning from mistakes, tailoring support based on each learner’s needs, while offering feedback and guidance that allow reflection to turn into mastery and retention. Ultimately, teaching is about more than imparting knowledge—it is about inspiring confidence, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in both education and clinical practice.
