Biography

Professor Rymer has a history of clinical social work including extensive work in childhood trauma and substance misuse. She has spent the last 18 years working in suicide prevention and has developed MU-SPEAC ( Suicide Prevention Education Across Campus). She has procured grants to develop and collaborate trainings for campus and community members. Professor Rymer has provided the core behavioral health curriculum for the program since the beginning of the MSW program in 2016. She is currently developing a Suicide Prevention Research Laboratory that will engage students from the Social Work department to investigate new and inventive ways to create stronger safety nets for students and other members of the Huntington community.
