HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WMUL-FM)- Marshall Women’s Soccer (5-3-1, 1-1-1 SBC) will be hosting its second straight game at Hoops Family Field as it takes on the Arkansas State Red Wolves (2-2-4, 0-1-2 SBC) on Saturday.

Marshall is off to a hot start as it sits third in the Sun Belt Conference East Division. Meanwhile, the Red Wolves are scuffling in fifth and have yet to score a conference win this season.

This game should be very offensive as both teams are in the top five in scoring average in the conference. Marshall sits in third and Arkansas State in fifth, both averaging over two goals per game. It is possible that the game comes down to which keeper can make a big save.

Another factor will be fouls as Arkansas State has the fewest fouls in the conference while Marshall has the third most. The team that manages to play cleaner soccer is likely to control the game.

The players to look out for will be Bailey Fisher for Marshall and Kennedy Horn for Arkansas State. Fisher is top five in the Sun Belt in both shots and shots on goal, while having the sixth most goals in the conference with five.

Horn is tied for the most goals in the conference with seven and has the second most points with 16.

This game should shape up to be an offensive showdown. You can catch all the action on 88.1 WMUL-FM the Cutting-Edge Sports Radio Network, as well as on Steam 1 online at www.marshall.edu/wmul/. FM88 Sports’ Shane Darling and Anthony Doria will be on the call with pregame at 6:45 p.m. and first touch at 7 p.m.
