HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (WMUL-FM) — February break took place this weekend and students took full advantage of the quick reset before midterm exams.
Marshall University students have come to the first break in the spring 2026 semester. Some students decided to stay on campus or in the Huntington area, while others took this time to venture out, try new things and explore new places during the two day break.
Student Jake Twargoski said he would be taking a trip with family, to escape campus for a few days.
“My dad and I are going to go on a road trip, as of right now, we don’t know where, but we’re going to get out of Huntington for the couple of days,” Twargoski said.
Regardless if students have chosen to stay in town or venture out, love has filled the air, as Valentine’s Day falls on the Saturday of break.
Some students have used this time to celebrate the love filled holiday by going out, having fun and spending quality time with their significant others.
Student Connor Brown said despite having to work until four p.m. on Valentine’s Day, he’s made the most of his time to spend the day with his girlfriend.
“Saturday is Valentine’s Day [I’m] really excited for that, I do work until four, but me and my girlfriend are going to hangout and go to Dave & Busters,” Brown said.
While some students chose to use the break to relax, others chose to make the most of their time during the four day weekend before they returned to classes the following Monday.
