FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Students from Marshall University’s public radio station, WMUL-FM, will serve as host for their 23rd annual Car Bash on Friday, October 17th, 2025, on Marshall University’s main campus in Huntington, W.Va.
Dr. Chuck G. Bailey, professor of radio-television production and management in the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Marshall University and faculty manager of WMUL-FM, said, “WMUL-FM is excited to enter its third decade of providing this traditional homecoming event, which builds excitement for the homecoming game.”
The car this year will be painted in maroon and gold and adorned with the image of a bobcat head to symbolize the Texas State football team mascot.
WMUL-FM volunteers will set up for the event at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17th and begin taking signed safety waivers and $1 fees at 10 a.m.
The event will end at 3 p.m. to allow time for volunteers to clean up and tow away the car in time for the homecoming parade at 6 p.m.
Station spokespeople have voiced their gratitude to Kelly’s Radiator Service for helping continue to make each Car Bash a successful event year after year.
WMUL Car Bash information and updates can be found on the WMUL-FM social media pages, on the station’s Herdlink profile, or on its website at www.marshall.edu/wmul.
