B.B.A. in Accounting

The Department of Accountancy and Legal Environment offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Graduates of the program add value to many types of organizations. They are prepared to meet business challenges because they learn many professional skills including core knowledge, communication, accounting research, technology, and critical thinking.

Through a rigorous curriculum and an abundance of opportunities to engage with professionals, students with a BBA in Accounting from Marshall obtain internships, entry-level positions, and advance in a diverse set of accounting careers.

Why Accounting?

Accounting provides relevant information to decision makers, managers, investors, creditors, labor unions, government regulators and others interested in the financial well-being and future of an entity’s economic activity. Accountants are in high-demand to manage, review, and interpret an entity’s financial transactions. Accountants gain knowledge of the entire enterprise, which can lead to opportunities for advancements into other functional areas. In addition, accountants must be able to communicate the numbers to other stakeholders of an organization, and must stay abreast of technological advancements, making this career path valuable for individuals with varied interests.

The mission of the BBA in Accounting program is to provide students the core knowledge and skills necessary to successfully enter the profession of accountancy, business, and/or graduate study. Graduates from our program have successfully obtained jobs at public accounting firms, industry, and governmental agencies. Some of our alumni have gone into teaching-related jobs.
