Marshall University’s all-online R.N. to B.S.N. degree program enables nurses who have graduated from either a nationally accredited associate degree nursing program or a diploma nursing program to earn the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.). Whether you live and work in West Virginia, or around the country, you can take advantage of this 100 percent flexible, online degree program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Earning your B.S.N. will expand your capacity for critical thinking and clinical judgment. Our B.S.N. core curriculum provides general education across multiple disciplines including the fine arts, social sciences and humanities in an interactive, online environment. Through the accredited R.N. to B.S.N. curriculum you will better understand the integration of clinical knowledge, research and evidence-based practice.

Why Choose Marshall for the Online R.N. to B.S.N. Program?

The Institute of Medicine’s report “The Future of Nursing” recommends that health care organizations nationwide increase their B.S.N. nursing staff to 80 percent by the year 2020. Marshall is prepared to support registered nurses to achieve this goal, while broadening students’ knowledge to serve as leaders in advancing holistic, preventive health care.

Marshall’s accredited R.N. to B.S.N. program is 100 percent online, which means you will not be required to be on campus or in our classrooms to complete your studies. Because the program is asynchronous and online, you can complete the work anytime, anywhere. Marshall also provides highly qualified faculty who will work with you. Our R.N. to B.S.N. program can be completed in two semesters of full-time study or three to four semesters on a part-time basis. Tuition is very affordable.

Career Outlook for Online R.N. to B.S.N. Majors

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for registered nurses will grow rapidly at 15% percent through 2026.

Registered nurses who earn their B.S.N. earn more, have better patient outcomes and have more job opportunities. According to research from Payscale.com, an R.N. with an associate nursing degree can expect an entry-level salary around $57,000, while nurses with B.S.N. degrees start out at more than $70,000.
