Biography
Dr. Taylor Isaacs Browning is a passionate and dynamic educator with a rich background in both the arts and education, driven by a commitment to empowering future teachers through innovative, hands-on learning experiences. With a doctorate in Leadership Studies, an MFA in Acting, a BA in Music Education, and principalship and superintendent certification, Taylor brings a unique, multifaceted perspective to their role as Director of Clinical Experiences at Marshall University’s College of Education. In this position, Taylor plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of educators by orchestrating meaningful, high-quality field placements, fostering strong partnerships with local schools, and ensuring teacher candidates receive valuable, real-world teaching experiences.
Before transitioning into higher education, Taylor spent several years as a dedicated educator in Putnam County Schools, where she served as the Choral Program Director and General Music Teacher at Hurricane Middle School. There, Taylor designed engaging music curricula that catered to diverse student populations, tailored lessons to meet the needs of learners with varied abilities and fostered a positive school culture that emphasized both academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
Beyond her work in the classroom and administrative leadership, Taylor is an advocate for professional growth, collaboration, and the advancement of educational practices. She has presented at the Eastern Education Research Association (EERA), offering valuable insights on topics like academic advising and music education. Taylor remains deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of educational practice through research, innovation, and collaborative engagement with educators, students, and the wider community.
