In accordance with the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) policy and procedures, the CAA is seeking public comment as part of its review of the master’s program in speech-language pathology offered by the Marshall University Department of Communication Disorders. The program has applied for continued accreditation.

The Department of Communication Disorders at Marshall University will host the CAA for a virtual site visit on Monday, November 8th and 9th, 2021.

Individuals who wish to provide input about this program may do so in 2 ways:

  1. Submit written comments priorto the accreditation site visit. All comments are due in the Accreditation Office by Monday, October 25, 2021. Comments can be made via email to accreditation@asha.org or via fax to 301-296-8570.
  2. Attend the virtual public meeting during the site visit, which is scheduled for Monday, November 8, 2021, from 5:00-5:45 pm (EST). Individuals planning to attend the public meeting must RSVP to Pam Holland at holland@marshall.edu. A zoom link will be sent to all who officially RSVP.

All written comments must:

  • Relate to a program’s compliance with the current Standards for Accreditation.
  • Identify the specific program seeking candidacy, initial accreditation, or continued accreditation with the CAA.
  • Include the commenter’s name, address and telephone contact information and the commenter’s relationship to the program in order for Accreditation staff to verify the source of the testimony.
  • Must be signed.
