Two Marshall employees were honored today at the 2016 Celebration of Excellence luncheon hosted by United Way of the River Cities in Huntington.

Marshall University President Jerome A. Gilbert issued the following statement this evening regarding the passing of faculty member Dr. Harold Blanco following a bicycling accident.

Students from WMUL-FM, Marshall University’s public radio station, received six first-place awards and eight honorable mention awards during the National Broadcasting Society/Alpha Epsilon Rho 25th Annual National Student Audio/Video Scriptwriting and 53rd Annual Audio/Video Production Awards Competition ceremony.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin signed Senate Bill 104 into law Wednesday, designating the Forensic DNA Analysis Laboratory of the Marshall University Forensic Science Center as a criminal justice agency.

The Marshall University School of Pharmacy Preview Day, an event designed for high school, college and non-traditional students considering a career in pharmacy, will take place Saturday, April 9, at the Coon Education Building in Spring Valley. The event runs from noon to about 3:30 p.m.

Menis E. Ketchum II, chief justice of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, will give the address at Marshall University’s commencement ceremony for undergraduates at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7, President Jerome A. Gilbert announced today.

Marshall University is planning two open houses in April to introduce Kanawha Valley residents to the university’s new undergraduate course offerings on its South Charleston campus.
