University to reopen Monday with normal operations

Share

Marshall University will reopen with normal operations tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 25. The university was closed Friday due to the winter storm.

Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Operations Brandi Jacobs-Jones said grounds crews have prepared the campus, including clearing sidewalks, and are plowing parking lots today.

Jacobs-Jones said students and employees should use good judgment in deciding whether to travel to class or work Monday, based on the road and weather conditions in their individual locations.

Students who decide road conditions do not permit travel to attend class should contact their instructors in advance to make arrangements for their absence.

According to university policy, individual employees who determine the risk of travel to be too great and elect to remain home should contact their respective supervisors and arrange to take annual leave or compensatory time off. Supervisors should consult with department chairs or the Human Resource Services if there are questions.

The university’s policy regarding inclement weather is online at http://www.marshall.edu/news/weatheremergency-closings.
