The one-of-a-kind Marshall University Division of Aviation offers a Professional Pilot program and an Aviation Maintenance Technology program with access to world-class facilities and expert instruction. Both programs lead to FAA certification that will prepare you for an exciting career in a high-demand field.
Marshall Aviation also offers a variety of non-degree aviation training opportunities designed to meet industry needs and provide hands-on, career-focused instruction. Programs include flight training, Aircraft Dispatcher Certification, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) training and customized aviation and workforce training.

Bill Noe Flight School
Located at the West Virginia Yeager International Airport (CRW) in Charleston, WV, at Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport (MRB) in Martinsburg, WV, and the Greenbrier Valley Airport (LWB) in Lewisburg, WV, the Bill Noe Flight School is equipped with a custom fleet of Cirrus SR20 aircraft as well as state-of-the-art simulators. The Professional Pilot program curriculum is designed to teach you the principles of aeronautics, navigation, flight control and communication systems, as well as the regulations governing commercial aircraft operation.
*The Professional Pilot program is not eligible for Veterans Affairs benefits at this time.
Aviation Maintenance Technology Program
Located at the Huntington Tri-State Airport in Huntington, WV, AMT program students learn to inspect, service, and repair various aircraft of all sizes. The program is in collaboration with Mountwest Community and Technical College and is designed to help you obtain your degree and earn FAA certifications in airframe and powerplant maintenance (A&P).
Students looking to continue their education can seamlessly build on their AMT experience through Marshall University’s Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Integrated Studies. The BAS program allows students to apply their AAS degree toward a bachelor’s degree.
