We stay on top of the latest trends in group fitness while also offering structured, results-driven workouts and personalized feedback. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to level up, our classes help you build confidence and develop skills that last a lifetime—whether you’re here for wellness, strength, or performance. With a wide range of class options for all fitness levels, we’ve got something for everyone to stay active, healthy, and feeling their best year-round.

Registration Information
Group fitness classes are free for members. Guest must purchase a guest pass at the welcome desk prior to attending the class.
Group fitness classes can be registered for in person, at the Pro Shop, in the Rec lobby or online 48 hours in advance.
- Registration is highly recommended to ensure equipment availability. If you can no longer attend the class, please un-register so that the spot can be filled.
Private Group Fitness
Looking for a fun, healthy, and energizing activity for your group?
The Marshall Recreation Center offers Private Group Fitness Classes led by our certified instructors — perfect for student organizations, campus departments, athletic teams, residence halls, and community groups.
Choose from a variety of formats such as Yoga, Cycling, BODYPUMP™, SHAPES, Herd HIIT, Power Pilates, or Dance Fitness. Classes can be held in one of our studios, on the turf, or in the pool (based on availability).

Rates include a 45–60 minute class with a certified instructor and all necessary equipment.
Booking Details
Requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.
Maximum group size and location options depend on class format.
We’ll reach out within 2–3 business days to confirm your request and finalize scheduling.
Fitness Class Types
- Cycle
- Pedal through hills, flats, sprints, and everything in between! This class is powered by fire playlists and instructors that’ll push you to your limits. Expect to sweat, work hard, and have a blast.
- Cycle Explicit
- Where sweat meets the club. This high-intensity ride is fueled by raw energy, heavy beats, and explicit playlists that push every sprint and climb to the next level. Expect relentless intervals, sweat-drenched climbs, and a challenge that hits harder than your typical cycle class. Electric, unapologetic, and full of attitude—this is more than a ride, it’s a night out on the bike.
- Dance Fusion
- A fun, high-energy cardio class that blends dance styles with light strength work. Get your heart pumping while building strength in your arms, legs, and core using optional weights and bands. Designed for all fitness levels—no dance experience needed. Modifications are always offered.
BODYCOMBAT is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness. No experience needed. Learn moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu. Release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ. Bring your best fighter attitude and leave inhibitions at the door.
- Hot Yoga
- Get ready to turn up the heat—literally! Hot Yoga takes your practice to the next level in a studio heated between 80 and 100°F (27-38°C). This intense, sweat-dripping environment challenges your body, improving flexibility, range of motion, and circulation while.
- Before diving into Hot Yoga, be sure to hydrate—drink plenty of water before, during, and after. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, take a break!
- If you have health concerns like heart disease, dehydration issues, pregnant, heat intolerance, or a history of heat-related illnesses. Always check with your doctor first!
- Yoga Flow
- Flow through mindful, breath-linked movements that build strength, flexibility, and focus. Whether you’re new or advanced, this class will leave you feeling centered and strong.
- Yin Yoga
- Slow down with Yin Yoga, a full-body, gentle practice designed to release tension and improve flexibility. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a busy day or tough workout.
- Power Pilates
- Pilates is a holistic exercise approach that enhances muscle strength and flexibility, promotes joint mobility, and refines core activation. Take your fitness to a new level by stretching, strengthening, and balancing your body.
- LES MILLS BODYPUMP
- Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically-backed moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.
- LES MILLS SHAPES
- This is the workout you never knew you needed. An invigorating blend of Pilates, barre, and power yoga set to modern beats. With small, controlled movements, you sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment and increase flexibility. It’s a low impact but intense way to heat up your training.
- LES MILLS CORE
- LES MILLS CORE™ is a science-based workout designed to strengthen, stabilize, and tone your core, improving balance, endurance, and sports performance. The workout uses resistance tubes, weight plates, and bodyweight exercises like crunches and hovers, with options for all fitness levels. Instructors guide proper technique, and the class includes exercises for the hips, glutes, and lower back
- Herd HIIT
- Herd HIIT is where cardio meets strength in quick, intense bursts, paired with active recovery. Get ready for a total-body workout that’ll have you feeling the burn and crushing your fitness goals—no matter your level! Resistance Bands & Rubber Flooring are provided by Living Fit
- Herd Circuit
- Herd Circuit is a 45-minute interval-driven class that moves through a variety of stations designed to build strength, endurance, and overall fitness. The format adapts based mixing different exercises and equipment to keep you challenged and engaged. Suitable for all levels, this class encourages steady effort, variety, and community—join the herd and find your rhythm!
- Silver Circuit
- Get moving with this low-impact circuit class that alternates standing choreography with upper-body strength moves. Perfect for all fitness levels with adaptable exercises.
- Silver Classic
- Classic is a beginner favorite, offering joint-friendly strength-building exercises with the support of a chair. Perfect for moving confidently at your own pace.
- Stretch & Stability
- Focus on balance and fall prevention in this chair-supported class that improves cognition and coordination—great for boosting confidence and stability.
- Silver Splash
- Splash around in this shallow-water class using a signature splash-board for resistance. It’s a safe and fun workout for everyone—even non-swimmers.
- Aqua Zumba
- Make waves with Aqua Zumba! It’s like regular Zumba but with water resistance, giving you a joint-friendly workout that still tones your muscles and keeps the energy high.
Group Fitness Policies
To ensure a safe, fair, and welcoming environment for all participants, the following policies apply to class registration, waitlists, and in-studio etiquette:
Class registration closes 30 minutes before start time; waitlists close 20 minutes before. Only participants on the roster or waitlist may join. If not registered, please wait on the bench until class begins — entry is allowed only if space is available.
The studio door locks 5 minutes after class begins. Late entry is not permitted.
If you cannot attend, please unregister before registration closes so others may take your spot.
After class, please exit within 5 minutes and continue conversations outside. For incoming classes, participants should wait until the studio has fully cleared before entering.
Individuals in classes or observing must adhere to all Marshall Recreation Center Policies. View our Policies and Procedures online.
