Healthy Herd Youth Summer Camp

Join the action-packed Healthy Herd Youth Camp for exciting games, activities, and swimming. Energetic counselors mentor and coach kids aged 5-12 in a safe environment. Activities change daily, and advanced registration is a must due to limited capacity. Bring a water bottle, wear comfy clothes, pack lunch, towel, and swimwear for a thrilling experience!

Early Bird Registration: March 2nd – April 30th

  • Members: $135
  • Non-Members: $165

Standard Registration: May 1st – August 3rd

  • Members: $155
  • Non-Members: $185

Priced per week and prorated for week 1. Camp fills up quick!

Age Groups:

  • Little Marcos: 5-6 years old
  • Bison Buddies: 7-9 years old
  • Future Herd: 10-12 years old

Camp Times:

Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm

  • Camp programming will begin at 9am.

Lunch:

A weekly lunch option through Sedexo will be available for an additional fee of $40/week.

Camp Dates & Weekly Descriptions

Campers dive into an action-packed week celebrating hometown heroes: the everyday people who make a difference right here in our community. Through themed games, crafts, swimming, and rock climbing, youth will learn about real-life local heroes while building confidence, teamwork, and imagination. It’s an energetic, inspiring way to kick off summer with pride and purpose.

Highlight of the Week: A visit from the Huntington K-9 Unit and Fire Department.

Every day features a new theme packed with high-energy activities that keep campers moving and engaged. Surrounded by Marshall spirit, campers show off their pride, build friendships, and create unforgettable summer memories in a fun, upbeat environment.

Highlight of the Week: Dress Up Days and crafts that go with each theme!

  • Monday: Marshall Day
  • Tuesday: Character Day
  • Wednesday: Pajama Day
  • Thursday: Crazy Hair Day
  • Friday: Animal Day

Kids spend the week preparing to show off their special talents with their counselors! This is a week full of teamwork and lots of smiles.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will end the week with a Talent Show, where parents/guardians are invited to watch them perform!

Blast off into a space-themed adventure with imaginative activities, pool fun, and rock-climbing challenges. Campers explore, play, and move all week long in this out-of-this-world experience.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will design and race their own rocket ships in the pool, turning creativity into splash-filled excitement! The experience is topped off with an immersive planetarium visit where kids explore space and learn about the wonders of the universe.

Hands-on experiments, creative crafts, swimming, and climbing turn campers into curious scientists. This week is full of exciting discoveries and playful learning.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will create their own egg drop enclosures and test them by watching a counselor drop them from the Rec roof. Makerspace will also come for a visit and teach the campers how to create 3D Printed items.

Campers compete in friendly games, field day events, swimming, and climbing challenges. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and active fun take center stage.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will participate in a day full of Field Day activities, including a wall climbing competition.

Splash into summer with water games, swimming, and high-energy outdoor fun, plus rock climbing to balance out the excitement. This action-packed week keeps campers cool and smiling.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will spend all week engulfed in water games and end the week with an inflatable!

Favorite stories come to life through imaginative play, themed activities, swimming, and climbing. Campers explore new worlds while staying active and engaged in learning.

Celebrate summer with holiday-themed games, cozy crafts, swimming, and climbing fun. It’s a festive twist that campers look forward to all year.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will enjoy a hot cocoa bar, holiday games, and a movie of their choice.

Campers build strength, confidence, and problem-solving skills through ninja challenges, climbing, swimming, and themed missions. Perfect for kids who love to move and explore.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will participate in a climbing clinic.

We wrap up summer by bringing back camper’s favorite games and activities. It’s a joyful celebration of friendships and unforgettable summer memories.

Highlight of the Week: Campers will create a scrapbook of their favorite memories at Healthy Herd Youth Camp 2026.

Additional Details

The Healthy Herd Youth Camp operates as a licensed childcare facility within the state of West Virginia. Please note that we have a max capacity of 90 campers that we can accept per week. Once we have met that number, we will no longer be able to take additional registrations. If the registration packet is not properly filled out, then the Healthy Herd Youth Camp might not be able to take responsibility for your child. Certain parts of the packet will require information from your camper’s health care provider. Before a camper is eligible to attend a day of camp the registration packet must be filled out and submitted, in its entirety.  If there is any documentation you would like to see or if you have any questions pertaining to the license, please reach out directly to the Camp Director, Lindsey Peterson.
