Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Education & Professional Development at Marshall University.
I’m Kelly D. Bradley, and I’m honored to serve this college and my home state of West Virginia. Students are my why. Everything we do—preparing excellent teachers, counselors, and leaders; strengthening schools and communities; and opening doors to learning—starts there.
Here’s what you can expect from us:
  • People first. Programs built around students and the professionals who support them—high-quality preparation with steady mentoring.
  • Evidence in action. We use results to improve programs and outcomes, never to reduce people to numbers.
  • Access, opportunity, belonging. Clear pathways in, real support to persist, and a community where every learner feels they matter.
  • Partnerships that serve. We listen to districts, agencies, and employers, then build solutions together to grow the educator and counselor workforce.
If you’re a prospective student, we’ll meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go. If you’re an educator, counselor, or leader, we’ll be a dependable partner. If you’re an alum or friend, there’s a place for you to mentor, collaborate, and pass it on.
My compass is simple: Dream Big, Work Hard, Stay Focused, and Surround Yourself with Good People. I invite you to join us in that work.
Stop in the Dean’s Office and say hello!
