Biography

I graduated from the University of Charleston in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in English. Earlier that year, I accepted a Governor’s Internship with the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts. In December, I became full time with the agency working as the Administrative Services Manager with payroll and human resources. I was given the opportunity to serve as the Arts Programs Coordinator and that position helped to build the foundation for my love of arts programming. I am currently serving as the Special Assistant to the First Lady of West Virginia, where my focus is on art programs such as the First Lady Student Artist Series and the First Lady’s Official Christmas Ornament. I also travel with the First Lady to provide support at various functions, assist in planning events at the Governor’s Mansion, and connect with constituents.

The coursework in the Masters of Public Administration program has complemented the work that I am doing and have done throughout my career in state government. In the future, I hope to continue working to highlight the incredible talent we have in West Virginia through the arts.
