Computer and information security are evolving disciplines that involve the study of information technology, strategy, policy and standards regarding security and operations in cyberspace.

Students are introduced to top security tools and expert faculty in the best computer science technologies, including: computer and network protection, penetration testing and prevention and security in mobile devices and the internet of things (IOT).

CS 210 - Data Structures and Algorithms
Design and implementation of data structures including stacks, queues, lists, trees, heaps, balanced trees, and graphs. Other topics include hasing, threading, data parsing, program testing, correctness, efficiency, and exceptions. Data structures including stacks, queues, lists, trees, graphs, priority queues, and dictionaries.
CYBR 240 - Information Security Policies
Introduction to information security policies, sociological and psychological issues in policy implementation in general. Discuss the lifecycle of policy creation, enactment in different domains of security and policy structure.
CYBR 310 - Introduction to Cryptography
This course covers the basic aspects of modern crytography, including block ciphers, pseudorandom functions, symmetric encryption, Hash functions, message authentication, number theoretic primitives, public-key encryption, digital signatures and zero knowledge proofs.

Top Computer and Information Security Facilies

Some of the most advanced computer labs in the region are available in Marshall’s Arthur Weisberg Family Applied Engineering Complex, which houses the Weisberg Division of Computer Science. The 155,000 square foot complex features four stories of research labs, classrooms and offices—all equipped with the newest and fastest technology available.
