Herd Fit Games

In 2023, Marshall Recreation launched a series of community events crafted to offer enjoyable competitions. Beyond the thrill of these gatherings lies a laudable cause. A substantial portion of each event’s registration fee directly contributes to the recently established Scholarship and Development Fund.

Sponsored by the Marshall Recreation Center, this fund is a focal point for the Student Recreation Council, playing a pivotal role in fostering the development of our dedicated staff. It not only provides cash scholarships to students it also offers financial assistance to all staff through leadership experiences, facilitating conference participation, and aiding in career development both within and beyond Campus Rec—thus shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

The HerdFit Games is a two-person fitness race that combines endurance, strength, teamwork, and grit. Teams will tackle 2 miles of running while completing eight challenging fitness stations, including rowing, burpee broad jumps, farmer carries, bench hops, kettlebell swings, plate thrusters, walking lunges, and a final plate drag to the finish.

This event is designed for all fitness levels. Teams may divide station work however they choose, making strategy and teamwork just as important as fitness. Whether you’re competing for a division championship or simply looking for a unique challenge with a friend, the HerdFit Games will push you to work together, dig deep, and earn your finish.
