Biography
Dr. Yvonne Skoretz is an Assistant Professor of Graduate Curriculum and Instruction and Coordinator of the Education Specialist Program at Marshall University. She earned her degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Marshall University and began her career as a K–12 teacher and reading specialist before transitioning to higher education. She teaches graduate research courses, chairs and serves on dissertation committees, and collaborates with students on research, teaching, and course design. Her scholarship focuses on mentoring, efficacy, technology integration, and program evaluation, with particular attention to practices that support student success and broaden access to graduate education. She has also served as principal investigator, author, and evaluator on federal, state, and local grants.
Her work has been recognized with multiple honors, including Excellence in Research, Excellence in Teaching, Outstanding Graduate Advisor, and a Best Paper Award from the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE). She also serves as a member of the Marshall University Research Advisory Board, the University of Colorado Boulder Native & Indigenous Mentorship Program, and peer reviewer for national journals and conferences. In her free time, Dr. Skoretz enjoys hiking, biking, and paddleboarding. She is a proud mother of two adult sons and values time spent with her family.
