Marshall University students have a special day to thank donors

Share
The third annual Thank-a-Donor Day, a time set aside for Marshall University students to thank in very special ways the donors who fund their scholarships and programs, will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, on the Memorial Student Center plaza on MU’s Huntington campus.

Several activities are planned for students, staff and faculty, including signing thank you cards to the donors, creating signs of appreciation, posing for photos and recording video gratitude messages. Free popcorn and prizes, such as T-shirts, sunglasses, button pins and candy, will be given to participants.

WMUL-FM will provide music and announcements, and the Marshall Alumni Association will give away free soda while supplies last.

“On this special ‘Thank-A-Donor Day,’ I want to thank the large number of donors that support Marshall University and invest in the lives of our students, faculty and programs,” said Dr. Ron Area, CEO of the Marshall Foundation Inc. “Just look around the campus and see the major capital improvements.  See the smiles on the faces of our students for the scholarship support our donors have provided.  We at MU are truly grateful for the generous support of our donors.”

Marco, Marshall’s mascot, is expected to make an appearance at Thank-A-Donor Day.
