Foundation to lead ‘Thank-a-Donor Days’ Sept. 14 and 15

The fourth annual Thank-a-Donor Days will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, and Thursday, Sept. 15, on the Memorial Student Center plaza on Marshall University’s Huntington campus.

Dr. Ron Area, CEO of the Marshall University Foundation Inc., said these days are a time set aside for Marshall students to thank in very special ways the donors who fund their scholarships and programs.

Several activities are planned for students, staff and faculty, including signing thank you cards to the donors, creating signs of appreciation, posing for photos and recording video gratitude messages. Free popcorn and prizes, such as T-shirts, pens, button pins and candy, will be given to participants. The Marshall Alumni Association will give away free soda while supplies last.

“We are striving to make a difference in every student’s life, and our donors are helping make this possible,” Area said. “We are so grateful for the generous support of our donors.”

Marshall President Jerome Gilbert and Marco, Marshall’s mascot, are expected to make appearances at Thank-a-Donor Days.
