Students from Marshall University contributed their research on a national level at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Clinical Symposia and AT Expo held June 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Zach Preston, a mechanical engineering student in Marshall University’s College of Information Technology and Engineering, is one of the first-ever recipients of the Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship.

Two Marshall University students have won Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships to study abroad. Gilman Scholars receive up to $5,000 to apply towards their study abroad or internship program costs with additional funding available for the study of a critical language overseas.

Marshall University senior Hunter Barclay placed first in the Persuasive Speaking segment of the International Forensics Association speech and debate tournament March 11-12 in Berlin, Germany. He also earned fourth place in Impromptu Speaking. The competition included about 150 contestants from throughout the world.

Sarah Binion Brunty, M.S., a biomedical research doctoral student at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, recently received a pre-doctoral fellowship grant in pharmacology and toxicology from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America Foundation Inc. (PhRMA).

Sana Ghori, a senior communication disorders student in the Marshall University College of Health Professions, has been selected for a full scholarship to attend the 29th Annual National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA) State of the States (SOS) in Head Injury Meeting Sept. 25-27 in Des Moines, Iowa.
