A project titled “Thousands of Origami Cranes” will be on display at the Huntington Museum of Art starting Saturday, March 26, and running through Sunday, June 26.

Marshall University’s College of Science hosted the 2022 West Virginia Science Olympiad March 5, bringing approximately 70 high school students to the Huntington campus to test their scientific knowledge.

Marshall University’s Institute for Cyber Security (ICS) is teaming up with the West Virginia National Guard and Forge Security LLC to enhance cyber security efforts and strengthen the future of cyber security professionals.

It first sparked some confusion back in 1992, and it may be sparking some confusion to this day. Marshall University’s Dr. Philippe Georgel, a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, has a colleague with the same name, doing research in his same field, but based at Université de Strasbourg. They’ve followed each other’s work for 30 years. And finally, they’ve teamed up for a project.

The Alliance for the Economic Development of Southern West Virginia, the West Virginia Community Development Hub and Coalfield Development have partnered to create opportunity for youth leaders in the Mountain State, by hosting the second annual virtual #WVSolutions Seekers Student Leadership Conference. This event welcomes high school juniors and seniors as well as college and training program students to participate and will be held virtually April 8.

The Marshall University Research Corporation (MURC) was awarded funding from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Social Services to develop, train and provide technical assistance on the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) and the National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise (NEICE).

Marshall University’s Japanese Outreach Program will conduct a virtual classroom with middle school students from the Higashi-Sonogi Middle School in Nagasaki, Japan, Tuesday, Feb. 8 and Thursday, Feb. 17.

Marshall University has been selected as a member of the United States Cyber Command Academic Engagement Network. U.S. Cyber Command protects the Department of Defense’s information network, defends the nation against cyberattack, and supports the Joint Force, and its academic engagement network is a series of partnerships with institutions with cybersecurity education platforms.

Prevention partners from across West Virginia including community coalitions, youth-serving organizations, and higher education groups are participating in Prevention Day at the West Virginia Legislature today (Jan. 12). 

The Marshall University Research Corporation has announced the winners of the Spring 2022 Undergraduate Creative Discovery and Research Awards and the Summer 2022 John Marshall Scholars Award program for faculty.
