Clinical Partnerships
The College of Health Professions maintains hundreds of partnerships with health systems, hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, and community healthcare organizations throughout the region and beyond.
Among our most significant partners is the Marshall Health Network, which includes Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Hoops Family Children’s Hospital, and Rivers Health.
These strong clinical partnerships provide students with exceptional experiential learning opportunities, support high-quality clinical placements, and facilitate a seamless transition from education to professional practice.
Alumni Network and Scholarships
The College of Health Professions is supported by a strong and engaged alumni network that helps students transition successfully into clinical internships, professional practice experiences, and employment opportunities. The College also offers a substantial number of scholarships designed to help reduce the financial burden of higher education for our students.
In addition, many College of Health Professions programs are eligible for the [West Virginia Health Sciences Service Program], which provides significant financial assistance to students pursuing health professions degrees at Marshall University and other colleges and universities across West Virginia. In exchange for service in qualifying communities and practice settings after graduation, eligible students may receive substantial support toward their educational expenses. Additionally, many regional healthcare systems and clinics have employment agreements that support students during the final year of their degree program.

Message from the Interim Dean
The College of Health Professions is one of the largest and most diverse colleges at Marshall University and is home to an extraordinary community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and clinical partners who share a common purpose: preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals to serve their communities with knowledge, compassion, and integrity.
With approximately 2,500+ students, including more than 450 graduate and professional students, the College offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across more than 30 majors representing a broad range of health professions disciplines and supported by 80+ dedicated faculty members. Our programs, which includes a cooperative with St. Mary’s Medical Center, span fields including biomechanics, clinical laboratory sciences, communication disorders, exercise science, health sciences, medical imaging, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, physical therapy, public health, respiratory care, social work, and ultrasonography.
Each year, over 600 graduates leave Marshall prepared to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities throughout West Virginia, the region, and the nation. Their success is made possible by faculty and staff who are deeply committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, clinical practice, and service.
Although our programs represent many professions, we are united by a shared commitment to student success and interprofessional preparation. Every day, our faculty and staff work alongside students to create learning environments that challenge, support, and inspire.
We also recognize that affordability and return on investment are increasingly important considerations for students and families pursuing careers in healthcare.
